  1. Do a visual check of the thread which surrounds the shade sail on its seams and hems. To do this you need to look at the tread that is on top of the shade sail. You will find if damaged, the thread starting to perish and break down.  If the shade sails thread is in bad shape, it will need resewing ASAP.
  2. Check the tension of your shade sails. The sails can do a lot of damaged to the fixings points if it is not at the correct tension. To do this just pull down on the shade sails wire edge and check if it is firm or not.
  3. Check your fixings are secure. Your shade sail might be attached with stainless steel shackles, turnbuckles or rope. You need to make sure these are securely fastened using a adjustable spanner or new rope.
  4. Check that your fitting which maybe on your house or polls are not loose and moving in anyway. A quick shake of the point
with you hand will tell you if they need tightening or replacing.
  5. Finally, check the water tight seals around your roof fixing points. By applying silicone around to the points this protect from any water damage that may occur.
